COOPS is a new and extraordinary concept in earring design – a marriage of simple, refined form and gravity-defying function, for both pierced and unpierced ears.
Launched in 2012 by Emma Sharp, who spent many years in the world of fine jewellery as the director of Emma Franklin Ltd, COOPS is the result of her exploration of how functional earrings could be designed without interrupting the flow of the piece with a mechanism or separate fastener. With COOPS, form and function are one and the same.
The squeeze-on, slide-off system allows every COOP design to remain pure, fluid and strikingly simple. They were a hit from their very first appearance and, since their debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2012, have enhanced the ears of Kate Moss, Keira Knightley, Cara Delavigne, Taylor Swift, Grimes and many more. COOPS has featured in publications such as Vogue, GQ, Stylist, The Sunday Times Style Magazine, The Obeserver Magazine and dozens of others.
COOPS are available in 13 distinctive shapes – with finishes in gold, silver, rose gold and bold black.
COOPS require only friction to stay in place. Simply squeeze each COOP (a little bit harder than you think your ear can take – it won’t hurt to wear) and the little bulge of the flesh on your lobe keeps the COOP snugly attached. To remove them, don’t prise them apart; just open your COOP a little bit and slide it off – minimal movement makes for a happy and long-lasting COOP.
